'Captain Miller' director Arun Matheswaran explains why he needs a big star to earn money

Actor Dhanush is gearing up for the release of his film 'Captain Miller'. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the periodic action drama is set for release in theatres on January 12, 2024.

The movie features Dhanush, SJ Suryah, and Priyanka Arul Mohan in lead roles, and the music for the movie is composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

With just two more days left for the movie release, director Arun Matheswaran explained in an interview with movie critic Bharadwaj Rangan that it is a big advantage for his film to star Dhanush in the lead.

He said that he needs a big star to earn money. He also noted that he prepared for his film to have a big star like Dhanush on board.

The director revealed that he made his films Rocky and Saani Kaayidhan with the attitude that whoever wants to watch his film,

but for Captain Miller, he wants the movie to be appealing to everyone. He added that's why a star like Dhanush, who can appeal to his fans in large numbers, is required for his film.

Director Arun Matheswaran, speaking about his collaboration with actor Dhanush,

said that it was much easier to work with him in a transition to make a big film. He explained that 'Captain Miller',

apart from appeaking to the economics and periodical story, Dhanush is a huge factor in bringing in the money after its release
